Kikuko Tanaka

“A Tragic Bambi” is an open-ended, ever-evolving multi-media tragicomic epic, which revolves around recurring images of urination on dismembered body of Bambi as an idée fixe. So far, it consists of some episodes and projects that ranges in a variety of medium, including sculpture, installation, performance, photography, video, sound and text. Basing on my psychological self-examination through encounters with various social phenomena as well as works, including literal, theoretical, theatrical, cinematic, and visual art works, “A Tragic Bambi” is my psychic autobiography that is paralleled with both my compassionate and critical interpretation of the society that conditions my subjectivity.
